Projects

Chris Jumes is the Managing Partner of QA Systems Group  In this role, Chris directs all activities of the firm to evaluate, improve, and build client’s GLP and cGMP quality systems and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance including: writing and/or revising SOP’s and manuals, development of change control and validation programs, GLP/cGMP and safety auditing, quality and safety systems training, and quality and safety project management. 

Chris has extensive experience in managing quality and safety initiatives including laboratory management experience in both the life science and healthcare industries.  Before founding QA Systems Group he served as the 
Interim Laboratory Director at Mount Auburn Hospital where he helped improve laboratory quality and safety standards.

Joslin Diabetes Center where he set up a rapid turnaround laboratory that resulted chemistry and hematology tests at the time of a patient visit, quality management programs, and research protocols. Chris also oversaw Covid 19 protocols serving on Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Infection Control, City of Boston, and Longwood Medical Area committees.

Outreach Laboratory Manager for Excell Laboratories in Boston where he led quality and efficiency improvements producing a $1.2 million savings for the organization. Chris accomplished this by analyzing expenses, and eliminating or consolidating unnecessary line items, streamlining processes, and crosstraining staff. Additionally, Chris designed and implemented innovative safety programs.

At Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Chris served as the Manager of Lab Operations, directing the operation of 19 labs.  While there, he established GLP and laboratory safety programs, including; training, QC, QA, preventative maintenance protocols and safety audits.  He created and led cross-functional teams that developed and standardized use of manufacturers’ chemicals, media/solution labeling, and documentation procedures.  He wrote and revised/edited GLP SOP’s.  Chris initiated innovative onsite training programs in association with Northeastern University’s Corporate Training Group and led project teams in laboratory safety, quality assurance, recipe standardization, and new laboratory set up and shutdown.

Prior to joining Millenium, Chris was with Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates where he evaluated new procedures utilizing QC/QA methodologies and produced and directed multimedia laboratory safety presentations.  While there, he also designed and implemented occupational health drug testing program and developed laboratory training programs.

At Quest Diagnostics, Chris served as a Laboratory Supervisor designing and directing plans for startup laboratory, including collaborating on marketing strategy.  He managed all operations of three satellite laboratories, devising and implementing new policies and procedures as well as evaluating QC/QA programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

An active member of several professional organizations, American Society of Clinical Pathologists, Clinical Laboratory Management Association, and American Society for Quality, Chris is fully versed in the technical aspects of quality and laboratory safety including, GLP/cGMP, OSHA, DOT and hazardous material regulations, quality assurance methodologies, writing and editing SOPs and quality control methodologies.

Chris is certified as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and Clinical Laboratory Compliance Professional by the NCA, and is a CAP trained Laboratory Inspector.

Chris attended Boston College’s Graduate School of Management, receiving a Graduate Certificate in Leadership for Change.  He holds a B.S. in Mass Communications, Cum Laude from Emerson College, a B.S. in Biology from the University of Maine, and an A.S. in Medical Technology with High Honors from Massachusetts Bay Community College.  Academic honors include Gold Key Honors Society from Emerson College, Pinnacle National Honors Society and Massachusetts Bay Honors Society.
